Ataturk’s principles. Principle of Republic, relationship between republic and democracy. Ataturk and republicanism. Principle of nationalism. Concepts of nation and nationalism. Principle of populism. Populism in Turks, populism understanding of Ataturk. Principle of laicisim. Definition of religion and its relationship with other institutions. Laicism and principle of laicism in Turks. Definiton of state, its tasks, classical and modern understanding. Atatism in Turks. Benefits for the Turkish community of etatism in Ataturk’s thinking system. Principle of revolutionary, and its definition . Revolutionary in Ataturk’s thinking system.

This course aims to teach the first year undergraduate students information about the Turkish National Struggle, Ataturk’s principles and the history of the revolution.
